Hi, I want to migrate from Starter to Business, now that I ran my website for about 6 months and am VERY satisfied with the support I have received from nicolas (even though I am still on the free version). My congratulations to the Hika-Shop team: this is the spirit to set-up a successful business. Before completing the purchase: how do I migrate from Starter to Business without impacting my current site? Is this as easy as upgrading from one starter level release to the next (i.e. just loading the zip file on to the server and being done? Or do I need to take migration steps (if yes, please specify)?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi,

Yes, it's the same process than for updates. You will get an install package that you will be able to install via the joomla installer.
Don't forget to make a backup before, just in case :)

hmm... I never did a back-up. Is there an autoomated way with Hikshop or would it be sufficient to just keep a 1:1 copy of the files on the server?

You can easily do backups of your website with akeeba backup: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...security/backup/1606

Hi,

The HikaShop upgrade process doesn't have the capability to remove settings. So that's not possible.
If you made language or CSS modifications directly in the original files of HikaShop, instead of using overrides as we always recommend, then it's normal that you lost them.
Here is the documentation where we talk about that:
hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...ize-the-display.html
If done properly, it's not possible that you would loose your custom CSS or translations.

The fact that the Display>Content menus and Display>Content modules are not there anymore has nothing to do with upgrading to the Business edition. It's because you weren't using the latest version of HikaShop before the upgrade and the upgrade gave you the latest improvement of the 2.6.0 version.
These menus are not needed anymore as the settings of menus and modules are now directly available when you edit your menus and modules via the Joomla menu/module manager.
