Hi All

I am new to HikaShop and I am a beginner level user of Joomla. I am trying to install it on a GoDaddy server and to no avail. I have tried loading it from computer and using FTP through directory and URL. Every time I get this

500 (Internal Server) Error ...that we're working furiously to correct. Things will be up and running again soon. Thanks for your patience. .

Now if i look at the directories using FileZilla I can see under components com_hikashop. But nothing under administrator/components...there was a time during this when i was able to see it under administrator/components as well but then i deleted it all together with one under component as well. I deleted it because nothing was showing up in the backend to work with.

I contacted GoDaddy about it and they said

"Thank you for your response. We understand you are encountering a 500 Internal Server Error when installing a Joomla component. With our Windows hosting accounts you must use the previously provided steps in order to show the actual error message so that you may determine what is causing it to occur.

You will also want to check with the developer of the component to determine if this will function on Windows hosting. Joomla is typically used on Linux. If the component requires Apache, a switch to Linux will be required. If you find that you need to switch the operating system of your hosting account, you can do so at any time"

Can someone help me with this. I have wasted a lot of time on it. I am ready to provide the info to make it work. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

HikaShop works on windows and linux no problem.

Usually, that problem occurs because of the resources restrictions put in place by your hosting company because the extraction and installation of the package of HikaShop is one of the most intensive process you'll have on your website, because there is a lot of files in HikaShop.

The simplest in that case is to install wamp server on your computer, put your joomla website there either a new website or a backup of it with akeeba backup) install HikaShop on it and then use akeeba backup to backup your website and restore it on your hosting. That should avoid problems with the restrictions on your hosting. Or you could also change of hosting company with less resources restrictions...
