Hikashop and Multisites

Hey there,

we are using HikaShop with JMS to allow multiple sites to run on one Joomla installation. We really like HikaShop, and we would really like to upgrade to the Business edition, but we wonder, if it's possible, to allow multiple domains for one Hika-Installation. We are willing to pay the license fee, for each domain, but we would need the Business edition to be installed only once, and run on multiple domains.

Would that be possible?

Best wishes,
Alex

Hi,

We never tested HikaShop with JMS. We actually never used JMS and don't own a copy of it so I can't say if it would work or not.
The best would be to ask JMS on there forum as they have a section dedicate to extensions compatibility:
www.jms2win.com/en/forum/25-extensions-compatibility

We could always look at modifying HikaShop if needed.

I was just looking into this myself.

I would love a main site, with a full product range, and then 4 mini sites that only have certain products from the range. JMS looks interesting to me but I notice the below forum discussion on their site :

It seems there is a issue with how Hikashop uses IDs ? Can you shed any light on this ? I just dont want to duplicate information on products and then maintain them all.

From what I understand, the problem arises when you have different modules with the same ids on your websites and that you use them as associated modules in HikaShop because then, the system could display another module on the slave website.

For example, if you have a related products module with the id 22 on the master website and that you duplicate the hikashop tables in a slave website and that you display that module under the product page with the corresponding option of the configuration, if you have the login module with the id 22 in your slave website, it will display it under the product pages.

The solution is simple, just make sure that that case does not happen.

Other than that, it seems to be working pretty well.
