Cannot import Variant stock levels

Hi I have major issues for my shop which is in the final stages before it goes live.

I need to update the variant stock levels. Whenever I try to do this I get the error message

The product is of the type but it already exists in the database and is of the type variant. In order to avoid any problem the product insertion process has been skipped. Please correct its type before trying to reimport it.

I have tried importing with and without the product ID.

For the main products to populate the descriptions I simply used product_code and the product_description fields only and this worked fine.

Hi I have update to the latest version with thanks to Nicolas as usual.

But I still have the same problem, see attached screenshot

I think I found the answer

I had to put in the field product_type

product_type,product_code,product_quantity
variant,148757,91

Could this have been it?

Is this still the case? If so why?

I have the same problem, I want to import stock levels from another system which has no concept of variants - the product type field doesn't exist in the export. Is there away I can over ride this check which seems unnecessary. If the csv file has an SKU and stock level why does it matter whether it's a variant in Hikashop?
