Payment radial creates order + Check cart reset

I found a couple of little glitches and I would like to know if they are normal or can be fixed.

The first is that when a customer completes a purchase using the Check payment method, the shopping cart module retains the items that they purchased instead of emptying the cart. I would prefer that when they create the order that the shopping cart module is emptied. Is this possible?

The second thing I noticed is that using my checkout workflow "login_address_shipping_cart,payment_confirm_cart_status_fields,end" if the customer presses the payment method radial button to change the payment method everything is fine, but if they accidentally press the same payment radial button twice the page acts as if they have pressed the "Next" button and their order is created. I would prefer that this did not happen so I was thinking about moving the payment method step in the checkout workflow like so "login_address_shipping_payment_cart,confirm_cart_status_fields,end" but I would like to leave the checkout workflow as it is. Can I keep my current checkout workflow and prevent the double click of a payment method radial button from creating an order?

Hi,

- That should not be the case. Do you have the same behavior on our demo website ?

- The scenario is this: When you click on a payment method, the form on the page is submitted to the server. Here HikaShop sees that the payment method has changed, so it updates it and skip the creation of the order and display the page again. If you click rapidly a second time on the same payment method before the page could be refreshed, the form is submitted again but this time, hikashop sees that no information was changed and that it can proceed to the next step. You might want to try that workflow: login_address_shipping_cart,payment_cart_status_fields,confirm_cart_status_fields,end

Hi Nicolas, my responses below:

- Your demo site does not include the shopping cart module, At least not one that I could find. I see User Menu, Login Form, Currency Switcher, Categories of products, and what looks like another module containing products on the left side of the page. I don't see the shopping cart module like you can find on my page bigfootcountry.net/shop/categories

- I will try the workflow you suggested. In the future maybe the code could be changed so that clicking twice on a radial button does not perform the same action as the Next button. I don't think users would expect that to happen even though most users would not press the radial button twice in a row. I try to plan for the unexpected.

Thanks

Below the categories of products module on our demo website you have the hikashop cart module and below it you have a module listing the latest products. By default, you should see the message "the cart is empty" in the cart module of our demo website.

I checked your demo site again this morning and the Cart module is now appearing. However most of the products are gone. I was only able to find one product named "teste". This did allow me to try out the cart module and it works the way I expected the cart module on my site to work. As soon as I completed the order the cart was emptied. Maybe I have not configured something on my site correctly?

Thanks

The products might be gone because someone else was testing the deletion of products. I see the products actually on the demo website (it's reseted every hour).

HikaShop saves your cart in the database. So, if you're logged in, your cart is stored in the database for your account.
If your session timeout and that you add again products to your cart while not being connected and then login for the checkout, after the checkout, your second cart will be deleted and you will get back your first cart. Maybe that's what you experienced on your website ?

Hi,

The displayed URL is the step you should display but because the checkout is "redirecting" you in the same step as previously, you see "step-3" instead of "step-2" (yes the first step is "step-0".. We will work on that for the checkout re-factoring).

Because your payment method is not pre-selected and you do not use the option "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection", you have to select first the payment method and you need to confirm it.
The selection of the payment method can influence the cart or the shipping ; that's why HikaShop have to display some kind of confirmation step.
By using the option "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection", you will avoid that.

your argument makes sense, but it is needed to have a better understanding and experience for the visitor during checkout!
hope you will work on that

thx
