Hey guys,

I have a website that sells aluminium extrusions to our dealers.

I have set it up so that all the colours that they can buy them are under variants. However, we do offer a custom colour under a variant titled "Special Colour"

I have created this extra field and it does appear on the product page, however i would like it only to appear if they select the variant "Special Colour" all other colour options should hide the field.

Thanks

Hi,

If all the aluminium extrusions have the same color choices (or that they can be grouped into a few groups of color choices), I would recommend to use custom fields of the table "item" instead of characteristics.
You will be able to display/hide a second field based on the first one value with the "display limited to" option of the second field. Custom fields can be configured via the menu Display>Custom fields.

hi, i wonder if the system can have conditional options e.g.:

if i sell computer and under options i have HDD from 128gb to 3T

if a customer ask for 3T the next option need to be SCSI or SATA

if the customer order 128 the option need to be SSD or SATA.

and if he choose SATA on either the options then it will indicate the which board need to be ordered that has SATA connectivity.

can this be done??????

Hi,

I suppose that you will want the price to change based on these options.
That means that the only possibility to do that with HikaShop is that you do it with custom item fields and you develop a price calculation override plugin to set the price of the products based on the values selected by the user in the custom fields.

Can you give me advice about this topic.
For example I have page with divers. Can I place conditional filters....First visitor need to find product in first filter , then he need to choose OS, and than he got driver for it.

How can I do that ?

Thank you for your support.

Hi,

In that case, you want to use a HikaShop filters module:
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...-filter-listing.html
with filters which apply on custom product fields that you set first in your products.

You don't want to list products in your filters.
You want to list the values of a custom product field.
You first need to create the custom field via the menu Display->Custom fields.

How do you mean I dont need it ? Yes I do...
In first filter I need to choose category, then when choose category I need to choose product, and then custom field...

Hi,

I think that what Nicolas was saying is that if you filter on Categories, it will display all the products of one category, then if you filter on one product, it will display only one product in the listing, so after that filtering on a custom field seems to be a useless step.

But if you filter on a category, then on a custom field, it will display all the products with that specific custom field value.

In your case:

First visitor need to find product in first filter , then he need to choose OS

I think that the product should be a category, so create a filter on a category, then the os can be a custom field value, so create a filter on the desired custom field.

Hope this will help you.
