We have a product which is priced by quantities - 8, 16, 24 32, etc, reducing the more you buy. The product is available in 4 color variants. We need the price to be calculated cumulatively based on the total of the colors ordered - eg 8 x black plus 8 x grey should get the price for the total quantity of 16 - currently the shop charges each color individually at the price for 8 pieces.

Any ideas how to achieve this please?

Hi,

It's already working like you want as far as I can see: take.ms/aG27H
The unit price for 16 units is 13.44 instead of 16.82
And if I add 8 units of two different colors to the cart and go to the checkout, I get the 13.44 unit price:
take.ms/Vf07n

That's actually the normal behavior of HikaShop so I would have been surprised that it worked differently.

Hi Nicolas,

I checked again, and now I know what is was I saw as a problem - e.g. customer wishes to buy 4 Black and 4 Grey items thus reaching the minimum quantity of 8 that is required for the first price break. This is not possible as the system will not allow you to place an order for 4 of one colour.

Hi,

That's possible too. See: take.ms/l4PXc
The thing is that you would have to either add them both in one go (possible by changing the way the characteristics are displayed), or add 8 of each and then rectify on the checkout, as I did (which works fine but customers won't know about this).

Thanks Nicolas
I think the simplest solution is to add a price for one piece - no one is ever likely to buy such a small quantity as the shipping cost makes it really uneconomic, but it does allow orders to be placed in whatever color combinations and quantities that are desired. So I will solve the issue that way.
Thanks for your help with this.
