Spam Bots

Hey guys I'm hoping you can help us out with this one, We've had some issues with spam bots registering through our website and filling out their user details with spam links, the bots are then hot linking back to our website. Initially I disabled the Joomla registration module but I then realized that this also disabled my registration for my Hikashop customers are they seem to be linked, I'm just curious if there is any way can disable the generic Joomla login module without it affecting my HikaShop registration page? the bots are defiantly registering through the Joomla module as they're being assigned to the "Registered" usergroup as opposed to the "Customer" usergroup which I've setup for HikaShop

An easy solution could be to use a plugin to add a ReCaptcha on the registration form.
