Drop-down List country-state-city

I want to know how to create a more precise recording and controlled the city since.

I want to know if you can create a Drop-down List in connected cascade
address_country
address_state
address_city
Where there are already listed all the cities only to select.

There are some components or plugins to install?
E 'will be a change in your future upgrades?
Or the only solution is to intervene by changing the php code?

Currently we only do it with the country/state, doing it also with the city will require the gathering of cities of every state of every country which will take a lot of place.

So the solution will be to directly do it by using code customization but that won't be that easy.
