Hi all,

I have been reading the forum for an answer on this and can't find one. It seems others are trying to do the same thing.

I want to display a module showing the image and title of the MENS category shown below. I want this so that when a user clicks on the category image or title (a module on my home page), they will be taken to the main shop listing showing the Men's Hats and Men's Gloves categories and all the related products.

Here is an example category tree.

CATEGORIES
> MENS
>> Men's Hats
>> Men's Gloves
> WOMENS
>> Women's Hats
>> Women's Gloves

If I select MENS category, I will only get the categories below it, making it impossible to pick just MENS.

I hope someone can help me sold this (simple?) task?

Thx.

Hi,

Edit your module via the Joomla modules manager and activate the "Link on main" setting and that should do it.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that, but still the same. Nothing shows in the module at all, unless I pick a category one level higher (not what I want). Do you have an example that I can look at?

Image Product Settings = I have category called Lorem, and 3 products belonging to this category.
Image Module Settings = I have set a single category Lorem to be displayed in a single module.
Image Modules = There is 1 module for 6 positions (so we can switch them on and off seasonally).
Image Output = Module 1 is not showing anything (Lorem) as it is trying to find a category below Lorem (there isn't one). The other five modules are working as they are set to a category above what is showing (so I have no control, currently set to random).

This is all test data.

I hope you can help!

Thx.

Hi,

That's normal that you get that.
The HikaShop content module's role is to display a listing of something. A listing of the products of a category, of a brand, or a listing of the sub categories of a category. It isn't to display one category.

But I don't understand why you're trying to create six modules to display a listing of categories ? Why not have only one module, listing the 6 categories at once. If you order them like you want and limit the module to 6 elements, it could display exactly the categories you want with the same 3*2 div layout.

Thanks for the reply.

I have gone back to doing it as a 3 * 2 div, however it only displays the categories in a single vertical centred column and ignores the DIV settings.

How can I get it to format as in the settings?

Thx

Hi,

It's probably that you've activated the "use bootstrap design" setting of the HikaShop configuration and that your template is not compatible with bootstrap v2. In that case, you would need to add the boostrap CSS and it will work:
