Partial Payment online the rets in person

Hello,
I have seen some historical posts on here regarding partial payments but they are over 5 years old.

I'm developing a site that is for people to book trips and excursions.

The client would like to only take a partial payment online, with the rest being paid in person when the customer turns up at the location.

My question, Is it possible to have a product with a specific price displayed, but then only take say 10% of the total price as a confirmation of an order? Will the system allow a product price to be specified and 10% payment taken to complete the order?

Hi,

You could create a 90% auto loaded coupon. That way, on the checkout the total would get a 90% discount (and you could use translation overrides to adapt the text).
Or you could do the same with a -90 percentage in the settings of your payment methods.
