Brands logo slider shows brands without products

I've implemented a Hikashop carousel to show the brand logo's of the products in a shop. Even though the option 'Only with products' under 'Category data display' options is set to YES for this module, it still shows the logos for all the brands that are present in the Brands category. (Please see attached screenshot for my settings.)
Because there are a lot of brands in the shop that currently have no active products in them, this clutters up the slider, and gives a lot of useless logo's. It also causes confusion with customers because logo's are shown for brands that are not currently for sale.
What can I do to make sure that realy only the brands that have active products are shown?

I tried to reproduce the issue on my end and when enabling the option "Only with products" the brands without products assigned are no more displayed. So it seems to be working as expected.

Are you sure that there is no products assigned to the categories ?
