Shipping Address Required Fields Not Working

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6

In the check out process of the site I am working on if you don't fill out all the required fields for a shipping address or a new billing address it gives you an error message but still passes you on to the next stage of the checkout and allows you to finish the order without completing the required fields.

Is there a way to turn on the same warnings you get if you miss a required field when you fill out the initial address and/or warn them they must save the address before proceeding?

We've actually added a patch to not display the error message when you validate the checkout step while the shipping address has been edited since it's not a problem as the address used previously was already ok. You can download the install package via the menu My account>My subscriptions and install it again on your website in order to get the patch.

We were previously blocking the customers from moving to the next step until they validated the address forms on the page but some customers didn't understand the system. So we changed it to work like this to avoid loosing customers on the checkout before theyr were blocked, not understanding were to click. So I don't recommend to block the customers to tell them to save before proceeding as we found out that it was not a good idea thanks to the feedbacks of other shop owners.

But an alternative I can suggest is to set the "address selector" option of the configuration to "popup". That way, when the customer edit an address he can only close the edition popup or save it before going to the next step.

The biggest problem now is that a large red error message comes up with no way for the customer to go back and fix the problem.

I have a different issue. When any option other than the "popup" is used for the shipping address not being the same as the billing address, the billing address changes to the new shipping address and the checkmark on the "Shipping Address is the same as Billing is checked again. When I select the popup, it accepts the shipping address without changing the billing address. But, both addresses are showing up for each of the billing and shipping addresses. Said a different way, there are 4 address showing on the checkout page. This is extremely confusing. I am using it now on the website. But, I would hope to have a much simpler method of applying a different shipping address. The URL is nouvelle research.com.

If you have a different issue then please create a new thread. Not doing that, you're bothering the other users of the threads where you post as they receive notifications of things they don't care about.
You're also not helping yourself as you don't fill in the information that we ask when creating a new thread, and thus we don't know about your HikaShop version, your Joomla version, a link to the page with the issue, etc.
