Weird things happening with paying w/points

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.4.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4

I have it set up that the customer can choose to pay with points.

In the event that the customer chooses to use enough points to make the order amount $0.....the system is STILL taking them to the credit card payment page..

That shouldn't happen...it should take them back to the home page and that's the end of the order.

I've done the test over and over and 9/10 it takes it to the payment system. One rare time it does what it's supposed to do and finalized the order with no payment requested.

Hi,

The "pay with points" plugin have several options for several different modes ; you can use it as a virtual discount or you can use it as a payment method.
Depending what you want to achieve, one or the other mode could be useful.

I want it to be used as a discount and payment method.

If the user has enough points to make the order $0....then it becomes a payment method, right?

But if they don't have enough points to make it $0 it becomes a discount.

I think my problem is that when the use enough points to make the order $0...it STILL goes to the credit card processing page. Why does it do that if the amount is $0 (noting to have to pay)?

Hi,

We don't have the problem. When the total reaches 0, no payment is asked and the order is directly created, and if you enabled the "validate free orders" plugin via the joomla plugins manager, the order is confirmed automatically.

Can you provide a screenshot of the options of your user points plugins so that we can see what you did ?

Thank you....but if I wanted that ON as a default.....is that something that can be fixed in later versions.... so that whatever default we choose (ON or OFF), it will work the same??

I appreciate the help...it was driving me crazy.

Hi,

Nicolas has made a bug report for that option and we will perform some tests in order to fix the issue.
The option was added recently and we didn't have the time to check all cases (the point system have a lot of possibilities) and it looks like that some cases, like yours, had issues with it.
So we will reproduce your issue and understand more deeply in the code what happen exactly.

THANK YOU....

I see in the latest version this has been fixed.

Sooooo relieved to allow the customers to turn the points on IF they want to and not have it automatically on when they checkout.
