Billing Address and Shipping Address query

Hi,

Wondering if it is possible to stop reverting back to the original address enterd into either Billing Address and Shipping Address.

Example.
The user edits their address, enters in a different address etc clicks onto the tick to save the changes, an error appears, 'Please complete the postcode field'.
The changes that were made are then reverted back to what was originally in their. So all the fields need to be re-entered again.

Is there something in the configuration, settings or somewhere in the code to stop this from happening?
