Hi, probably this is a really stupid question, but can't find the answer nowhere. I've activated the Hikashop Date Picker Plugin, but once I do it, where can I configure it? I'm not able to find it anywhere.

Thank you

Hi,

Once the datepicker plugin enabled, you can create new custom fields with the datepicker type in Display > Custom fields.

Hi, i've added the custom field but it adds the date picker to shopping address area of checkout. If you're a returning customer it doesn't show up unless you de-select or edit the shipping address. Can you help?

Hi,

If you want to have that field on the checkout and not in the address part, so you have to create a custom order field and not a custom address field.

Hi,

Did you published the plugin "Hikashop Date Picker Plugin" ?
Once this plugin published, in Display > Custom fields you can select the "advanced date picker" value for the "type" option.

I've done this, yes, however it's only displaying it in the shipping address part of the checkout and i can't assign it to the custom 'order' field - only the address field.

Hello,
In your case, you should probably just create a custom field :
- From the "Order" table
- With a type set to "advanced date picker".

Like i said, it won't allow me to create a custom field other than 'address' - see attached image.

Hi,

You're using HikaShop starter so you can just create "address custom fields".
But it does not mean that you cannot use the datepicker in the dropdown for the "field type", where you can see in your screenshot is currently "text".

HI Jerome, i've done this, the problem is that it only appears in the checkout stage if the returning customer deselects the shipping address checkbox. If they leave the shipping address as being the same as the billing address they don't see the datepicker. See attached.

Hi,

Yes ; it is fully logical due to the address fields are there to extend the addresses (billing AND shipping).

You can choose a different address selector to force the display of the billing address and use some overrides in order to display the address date value in the checkout page...

But the fact is an address custom field will be shared by billing and shipping addresses.
That is why if you want to let the customer select a date during the checkout ; the best solution is to use "order custom field" ; that the is main purpose of that kind of field.

Hi,

Yes, you do need to upgrade (according to the details in our documentation).

You're using HikaShop starter so you can just create "address custom fields".

Is there a way of keeping the shipping address fields displayed so the custom fields i've created remain permanently visable without needing to specify a different shipping address to expand it? I'll do the upgrade to Business but for now i need a work-around.

Hi,

No ; basically that's not possible.
Address custom fields are made to be used on the address, when you edit them.
Order custom fields are made to be use on an order, during the checkout.

It would be possible if you modify the Hikashop core files and implement a complete full system to handle the dynamic edition of one single and unique address custom field in your checkout.
A quote from a developer would be a lot more than the price of HikaShop Business.
And it would consist to re-invent the wheel which is already there with the order custom fields.
