Hi,

On my website when the Cart is empty I click on: the menu item: CART / CHECKOUT I get redirected to: this page

When i do the same on the Spanish Version and I click on the menu item: CARRITO / IR AL PEDIDO I get redirected to: a 404

1.) Is there a place I can select the URL where people get redirected to when clicking this menu item and the cart is empty?

As I guess there must be but I cannot find it...

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can do that with the setting "URL where you will be redirected when the cart is empty" of the HikaShop configuration.

Hi,

Thanks yes you can but it does not work.

I redirected it to here now the users gets redirected to the homepage which is good BUT

the user does not get the message: Your cart is empty....

the user only gets this message when he keeps navigating from the homepage to the next page (when clicking whatever menu item)

You can reproduce it here:

  1. Please go to my site here
  2. Now click on: CART / CHECKOUT - you get re-directed to the homepage but no message
  3. Now clik on any menu item - for example News - now you get the message your cart is empty...
But it must show it before just after the first re-direct

Update: it doesn't show because my homepage only shows modules and no articles I guess - isn't there a way to show a pop up or similar in that case?

Thanks for advice on that.

Hi,

This indicates that your Joomla template is not displaying messages on the homepage. HikaShop uses the standard messaging system of Joomla and it's the role of the template to display the message when HikaShop tells it to.
So that issue is something you'll have to check with your template provider as we don't know how they did that.

Hi,

Thanks yes I know - I wrote the following in my update to the initial question:

I had read your update. But what I say and what you say are different things.
Displaying only modules and not an article on a page doesn't mean that you can't display messages.
I know of several templates which don't have a main content area and a specific page layout with only modules for the homepage and still display the messages on that page.

As I said, the problem is with the template. It should add the <jdoc:include type="message" /> tag to the display even on the homepage. Now you sure can modify the template to do that display via a popup but it will be way more complex than just adding that tag at the correct place in the template code. In any case, as I said in my previous message, the best is to check with your template provider.
