Hi there,

Probably something simple:

I have a shop where the customers are all members of my organisation, and so I have created users in Joomla for each one (~3000). They are in the user group "Registered". I have successfully mirrored these members as Hikashop customers. However these customers don't have addresses in Hikashop and I want them to be able to enter their billing and shipping addresses when they first log in to use the shop, and add or edit addresses as required.

I have placed the address step in my checkout workflow.

When a "Registered" user goes to the checkout, the step to enter or change an address does not appear.

A user with permissions Manager, Administrator, or Super User sees the Address step and can add or change addresses.

I don't want to give all customers Manager permissions.

What do I need to change to allow my customers to enter and change addresses?

Cheers

Tim

Hi all,

I am sorry, my description of the problem was not correct.

On further testing, it seems that the problem is that if a customer has no existing address, then Hikashop gives no way to add one.

If there is already an address for the customer, then it seems to work as expected and allows the customer to edit the address or add more.

I have all addresses outside Hikashop - is there any way I can load them into the correct table?

Thank you

Hi,

Normally, when the user doesn't have any address, the address view of the checkout will display automatically the interface to add an address instead of the interface to select/edit an address.
So I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Did you try changing the "address selector" of the Checkout tab of the Hikashop configuration ?
How did you configure the settings on that tab ? Could you do a screenshot ?

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried many different configuration options but nothing will expose the option to add the first adress.

I have attached screenshots in the attached file.

Some more information about my business:

The shop is for use of about 2500 members of a sporting organisation. We only want members to access the shop and so we don't allow self-service registration.

I imported the users into Joomla by using a component named UKrSolution which successfully imported the user details but not addresses of course. Then I reinstalled Hikashop Business which correctly linked all Joomla users as Hikashop customers. All good. I advised my customers that they will need to add their address manually when they make the first order.

But then we discovered this problem. They reported that they cannot add an address. A file of screen shots is attached.

I can see that it is possible to import addresses into the hikashop_address table using phpmyadmin after linking up the user_cms_id field and I guess I can do that if I must. But I don't want to do that because if I make a mistake I'll probably destroy something.

I can give you admin access to the site privately if you wish.

Cheers

Tim

Hello,

I have resolved this problem.

For some reason, I had a Joomla user who was not synchronised as a Hikashop user. I could see him in the Joomla user list but not in the Hikashop customer list.

When I deleted the Joomla user and added them again, I was able to see the user in the list of hikashop customers and when I logged in using their details, it correctly asked for the address.

I am sorry for this trouble.

Thank you

Tim
