Restore one page checkout workflow

OK, guys, seriously, this is just crazy/stupid!

Your error message makes no sense what-so-ever!!!! (see attached).




I've added the login to the address work flow (see attached) ...


and the results is that A) no one can purchase anything; B) the screens are completely trashed; C) the original problem is NOT solved!

Hi,

a/ and c/ I tried to checkout on your website and it worked just fine. I was able to finish the checkout and was redirected to PayPal for the payment: take.ms/N1PUJ
So doing that change did fix the issue, as expected.

b/ that text comes from a third party module and has nothing to do with HikaShop. So we can't help.
I actually checked your checkout and I don't have that issue at all: take.ms/8uO0L

d/ why do you say that the error message makes no sense ? You removed the login view from the checkout workflow while still having the address view in it and it tells you to not do it. And the checkout works if you add it back. So I don't see the problem.

No. There was nothing wrong with the standard checkout for printed books. That has been working for several months.

The problem surfaces with the e-books under an unpublished category and with a discount coupon that makes the book free (for press reviews).

The 3rd party plugin that rotates the quotes/endorsements worked fine until I made the change you suggested and now doesn't work on 2-3 steps in the checkout process.

Even when you do get to the end, there's no download link!

The error message says the settings are "ignored" and then says the settings were "saved." Which is it? Invalid or saved? If invalid, why would you save them? Why would you allow someone to save settings that breaks the system?

1. I quote your first message:

So I tried to make a purchase of a random product on your website and it works.
I'm sorry but if you don't provide precise information on what doesn't work, we can't do much.
Thank you for providing the information to reproduce the issue in your last message.

2. Adding or removing views of the checkout workflow should not have any incidence on such third party display module. In fact, if you look at my screenshot, it's on the same step that your screenshot, but I don't have the issue. I would recommend to contact the developer of that module.

3. So, you actually means that the whole checkout works just fine, but that for some products, when the coupon entered cover the price to pay, the link to the download isn't given to the customer. It doesn't seem to have any link with the way the checkout is done. In such cases, you need to make sure that the "validate free orders" plugin is enabled in the Joomla plugins manager because it's its role to change the status of newly created order to "confirmed" instead of "created" when the total amount of the order is 0. Then, once the order is confirmed, a download link should be available in the order details page, and in the email notification sent to the customer if you activated the "send notification" setting of the plugin.

4. The other settings are still being saved. So the message that says that the settings were saved isn't totally wrong. It's only the checkout workflow setting which wasn't updated because the modification made was wrong.
