Add to Cart pop up box does not display

Hi, since upgrading to the newest versio of Hikashop a few days ago
the add to cart pop up window does not show up anymore when i add an item to cart.
the item does get added to the cart, but the window just doesnt show up anymore.

Please check the settings of the option "After a product is added to the cart" in Configuration > Main > Cart.
If it is correctly set on "Stay and display a popup notice" so on frontend check if there is no javascript errors thanks to the browser console.

Else you can too try another popup system in Configuration > Display > General display options.

i checked and the setting is fine
now the add to cart button doesn't even work at all, when you click nothing happens, at least yesterday it was adding to the cart without displaying the pop up

I havn'e made any changes form when that was working yesterday to now when i just tried it again.
on top of that none of my characteristics are working AGAIN
I had this exact same problem last time there was an update and had to spend so much time trying to fix it.

I changed to default template and it still down't work
it seems maybe the characters work, but i'm not sure because when i click on one it does't change the image picture like it's suppsed to but it stays selected

the add to cart pop up doesn't work still though.

I haven't installed any other extensions in at least a month, maybe longer.
i don;t think i even updated anything recently.
