Hi,
when a product was added to cart then the user is immediately redirected to the checkout. Is there a setting to prevent this behaviour?

Regards, Steffen.

Hi,

Yes, you can change it.
Go to hikashop>configurations>cart
Look for "After a product is added to cart" and choose what you need.

Hope it helps.

Regards

Is this option removed in 3.0.0?

Hi,

System -> advanced settings and set Add to cart legacy to "Yes" then you will be able to use that option.
If you set it to "No" then you will have to configure plugin "HikaShop Cart notification Plugin" via Joomla plugin management.

Thanks

That is fast :-)

I really like the cart notification, but i do not want it go to the checkout.
Before the update of 3.0.1 it worked great!
Now it does not give that notify anymore and goes to checkout.

I do not want to go to legacy (i like the notification), but i do not want to go to checkout :-)
I think it is a bug because the notification is gone.

I see this in the javascript (not my language though...)
window.localPage.cartRedirect = function(cid,pid,resp){window.location="/bestellen/checkout";};

That is the url where it goes after product.

Sorry joris85, i am not a part of support here as you can see. I have replayed to this topic long time ago and was subscribed to receive notifications via email...so that's why it was fast answer :)

As for your issue i won't be able to help and you will have to wait for hikashop team answer.

Thanks

Hello,

@kyratn - Thanks for the help

@joris85 - As kyratn mentionned, the setting became deprecated and is only used when you have the "legacy add to cart".
When using the cart system, the plugin "cart notification" is doing the job of the previous setting.
If the plugin is published and configured, it will display a notification and the customer won't be redirected to the checkout.
If no notification is displayed, the fallback system will redirect the customer to the checkout, so he will know that his product has been added to the cart.

Please be sure to be up to date ; your "cart notification" plugin looks not up-to-date regarding some missing options (in 3.0.1, the plugin can display a "tooltip" or a "popup").
If you have some javascript errors in your page ; the plugin script might not be initialized and it could have some side effects.

Hi Jerome,

Thanks for your help!
I downgraded the shop in the hopes it was fixed :-)

I now did an upgrade but still no luck here.

There is a javascript error but it is in the javascript of hikashop.

On this page:
de-kleur.nl/bestellen

Could that cause the problem?

Hi,

That's not in the Javascript of HikaShop. That's the chosen library of Joomla.
You'll find an option "use chosen library" in the HikaShop configuration which allows you to use that library if you activate it.
Turn that option off and the javascript error should disappear.
Now it won't change the fact that if you want to redirect to the checkout, you'd have to turn off the cart notify plugin.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for your reply, well i like the chose library :-)
And the problem is i do NOT want it to go to checkout.
So i DO want the notification in the right corner.

If i choose the popup it is working, but the one that came in the right corner goes directly to checkout.

Thanks for helping me out here Nicolas!

Hi,

I'm not able to reproduce the problem on my end, and on your website I see that you've configured the plugin to use the popup, so I don't see the problem either.
When the top right notification is used you're supposed to stay on the current page.
Could you provide a link to a page where we could see the problem ?

Hi Nicolas,

Well i leave the function now like this, so no message but a popup.
With only message i get a redirect to checkout.
But i do not want to activate that because users do not understand what is happening :-D

Let you know if i have problems with others site's with the same thing ;-)

Have a great day!

Hi there,

I seem to be having a problem with the cart notification plugin, too.

I have set the plugin to display a pop-up, to allow customers to continue shopping. This only works for products with at least one characteristic set up (even so it might not be needed for the product) and if the characteristics selection method is set to “list”.

Everything else will be directly directed to the check-out page, with no pop-up being displayed.

Am I missing something or is this how it is supposed to work?

Hi,

Note that the plugin is only to be used with the "add to cart legacy" setting turned off. If you have that option turned on, then you're using the old add to cart system which doesn't handle this plugin.
Also, if you have view overrides from your template with old views of HikaShop it's possible that it is using the old system even though you've deactivated it.
I would recommend you to check that setting and try with the default template of Joomla to check that it works properly.

Hi Nicolas,

that was the problem. Switched legacy settings off and now it works fine.
Thanks for your help.
