Shipping field empty

-- HikaShop version -- : HikaShop Starter 2.6.0
-- Joomla version -- : Joomla version, 3.4.5.
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.43
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 42.0

I can't get the shipping field to show up. It is just blank, making it very hard to track who purchased what, when you don't have the customer information. Is this really only a feature available in the Hikashop business? I have included "shipping" in the check out workflow, but it is just blank during checkout.

Hope someone can help.

Hi,

If your products does not have weight ; the shipping won't be needed so the shipping "step" will be blank.
In that case you can :
- Put weight on your products so they can be shipped..
- Activate the setting "force shipping regardless of the weight".

Thanks Jerome for trying to help. However as you can see in the attachment, I already have force shipping "on". Is there an other way to let collect customer details in the free Hikashop version?

Hi,

How did you configure the "checkout workflow" setting of your HikaShop configuration ?
Also, make sure that your template is able to display error messages:

Hi,

We'll, you've removed the login and address views from the checkout. So the shipping methods are probably not displayed because of that.

Thanks for helping out. It that kind of solved my problem, the address shows up now ... but is that really the only way to collect simple customer data during purchase in the free Hikashop version??

They have to register first? Then confirm their registration via email link and then complete the purchase?

Isn't there a way to collect simple customer data (like name and email) during purchase without having them register as a user? Or does that require the pro version and using the custom fields?

For what I need, I don't really need customers to be users, I just need to be able to associate a purchase to a name and email.

Hi,

The confirmation by email is optional. You have it because you have it activated in the settings of the Joomla user manager.

And if you want a guest checkout (without username and password), yes, that can be activated with the "registration" setting of the HikaShop configuration with the commercial editions of HikaShop.
