Depending the payment method, the order number is not yet available when the payment is made.
And for almost every payment methods, except rare configuration cases, the "invoice number" is not available because you need to confirm the order to get it.
And when a payment method use the Order ID ; it will use the order ID and not the order number.
Your issue is not related to HikaShop or his features ; it is more related to the payment plugin you're using.
