Hello,

I tested it with both Chrome and Firefox with the "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection" option set to Yes and it worked fine, I didn't had any error message and the "You chose the shipping method: " was correctly updated.

URGGGG now the shipping is not working.

We just received an order and the shipping was not included in the order.

We also did a test on both shipping options and did not receive the shipping amount in either orders.

It worked before so now I'm not sure what has happened.

Hi,

I checked your website but the shipping view is in your checkout workflow so it's not possible to checkout without a shipping method selected unless the "force shipping regardless of weight" setting of the HikaShop configuration is turned off and that you have no weight in the products of the cart.
So please check that.

I tried it in Chrome too and the shipping method is not updated. See pic.

I don't understand why we are getting two different results. Can you show me a screenshot of yours?

Hi,

As Mohamed said, if you activate the"Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection" option, the selection works fine. You got that issue because you didn't activate it on your website.

So Nicolas,

After several posts about this issue it appears that Firefox may be the issue. I tested the cart on other browsers and it works fine but on Firefox whenever I choose the 2nd shipping option I get the page cannot be found error.

Is there anyway you can look into this please? I'm not sure if any of you tested it in Firefox.

Hello,

I just succeed to reproduce your issue but I'm having that error page when I try to go to the Final step so it don't seem to be related to the shipping method selection.
Can you set a menu through the "Force a menu on the checkout" option via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" and test it again ?

Thank you.

Thanks for taking a look at this for me. For a minute there I felt no one was listening :(

Can you set a menu through the "Force a menu on the checkout" option via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" and test it again ?

Anyway, I tried what you suggested above and I am still getting "the requested page can't be found"

I just succeed to reproduce your issue but I'm having that error page when I try to go to the Final step so it don't seem to be related to the shipping method selection.

Maybe it has something to do with the "radio buttons" and it just so happens that I am using them to select a shipping option so that's why I refer to the shipping as the issue but maybe it's the button. Maybe if I was using the radio buttons for some other options it would cause that error too. Just a thought!

Thanks!

Hi,

It's not that we're not listening, but all the tests we did of what you were talking about were working fine.
For example on Firefox:
take.ms/pQN9z
But, as Mohamed said, when you try to finish then you get an error:
take.ms/6cfqT
And that error comes from the update of Joomla:

Is the fix in version: 2.6.3 or do I need to download something else?

Because I downloaded 2.6.3 and also added the fix manually but the issue still persists in Firefox.

Thanks!!

Hi,

The "invalid address" error is not an error which depends on the browser you're using.
It comes from the changes made in Joomla 3.5.1
Several things can trigger that error:
- the extension sending emails with the "old way" like HikaShop was doing. But that has been fixed with the latest version.
- you entering something which is not an email address in the email address fields of either the Joomla configuration or the HikaShop configuration.
So please check that.

I don't understand this at all :( I thought the update would fix the issue.

And, the issue ONLY happens in Firefox.

Several things can trigger that error:
- you entering something which is not an email address in the email address fields of either the Joomla configuration or the HikaShop configuration.
So please check that.

I checked and I am not doing any of those things to cause the issue.

Hi,

What the Joomla update does is two things:
1. when it checks the email addresses, if one is invalid it stops the process
2. it changes the way the code should be written to send emails through Joomla, which would lead Joomla in checking another field than the email field and thus failing even though the email address was correct
The fix that we included in the latest version of HikaShop fixes the way the code is done to send the HikaShop emails through Joomla. So you won't get point 2. But you can still have point 1. This is independent from HikaShop.

You said that you had the problem in firefox, not with another browser.
So since it's not possible that the problem comes from the browser (because the error comes from a check of the email address on the server side, it is not related to the browser itself), it means that you must have done something different in your tests on the different browsers.
For example, if the test user account you used in firefox had a wrong email address while you used another user account with a correct email address in the other browser, that could explain the different result.
So please check the differences between your tests on the different browsers.

Also, a simple alternative is to downgrade your Joomla from 3.5.1 to 3.5.0. That will remove the extra check of Joomla on the email addresses and it will work again.
