-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.1
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.11
-- PHP version -- : no idea
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Edge

I have a custom "order" field that is "REQUIRED" and applied to a hidden category.

I've just tried to check out a test product that ISN'T linked to the special category, but I still get a "Please complete the Project Name field" error, even though that field isn't even displayed! (It is displayed for products that are linked to the appropriate category)

Custom fields are the ONE reason I bought HikaShop Business - I really need this to work as advertised!

Hi,

Custom order fields didn't support the required option when restricted to products and categories.
We've actually worked on that and added a patch recently for it.
Download again the install package on our website and install it on yours and that will add the patch for that.

Thanks Nicolas,

I only installed hikashop business yesterday - has it been updated since then or is there a separate patch I need (can you post a link to it?)

Cheers,
Oliver

It's been updated today with that patch yes. That's why I said that you need to redownload it.

Ok - and there's no need to be "smart" - your previously post said "recently" which is rather broader than "today".

I've just run "update" in Joomla and it says I'm up-to-date - do I need to download and re-install over the top of the exsisting installation?

I'm sorry if I'm sounding really dense over this, but please understand - I don't use Joomla/HikaShop every day, so what is probably obvious to you is far from clear for the rest of us.

Thanks,
Oliver

Hi,

Yes, you need to download and re-install over the top of the existing installation.
