-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.45
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error message

our setting like below
Show shipping 'same address' checkbox : yes
Address selector : drop down list
Force shipping regardless of weight : yes
Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection : yes

however, everytime we edited the shipping address we found that billing address will copy the same value from shipping and the checkbox will become ticked again

what is the correct setting if we want default to have different shipping and billing address and ask customer to fill up ?

Hi,

Can you provide a link to the shop so that we can see the problem ?
Normalement, when you untick the same address checkbox, it opens the edition of the shipping address with a copy of the billing address and then you can change it and then validate the change and it will save the new address as the shipping address.

or is there a way to force always enter new billing and new shipping address regardless if they have any previous record?

Then why not simply turn off the "Show shipping 'same address' checkbox" setting of the HikaShop configuration ?

or is there a way to force always enter new billing and new shipping address regardless if they have any previous record?

You can use this plugin to not keep the user addresses after each order:

turn on the checkbox, when ticking it it will activate the new address enter field

however, it can not trigger new address when there are 2 record of shipping address, anyway to force trigger every time?

Hi,

When you login with a user account without any addresses (that will be the case all the time if you use this plugin and turn off the "ask address during registration" setting of the HikaShop configuration), you'll get a new address form for both the billing and the shipping address on the checkout.

Hello,

I am having the exact same issue on my client's website. When a new billing or shipping is submitted or an exisiting one is updated, the values are automatically copied to the billing or shipping address areas. This is not the expected behaviour. If a customer adds or updates their billing address, it should not affect their shipping address unless the "Use the same address as for billing" checkbox is checked. I have turned off all of my template overrides, but this does nothing to fix the issue. I have attached a screenshot showing the shipping and payment configuration settings. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you.

Mike

Dear Nicolas

This method solved the address problem for some times, however, recently we notice during some scenario (we are not sure why) the address will not be unpublished after successful checkout and leads back to the address problem for certain customer

can you have a check on this ? version 2.6.2

Hi,

@mikehermary: Do you have the latest version of HikaShop ? If not, please update.
Please provide a link to the shop so that we can look at the issue.

@ler@singmuiheng.com: The plugin still works with the 2.6.2
Are you sure that the problem is not that these users already had addresses configured in their user account ? Because if they already have an address before reaching the checkout, then the system will display the address selection interface instead of the new address form interface.

Hi,

I've checked on your website but I'm not able to reproduce the problem.
When I edit the address selected in the billing address area while I have another address selected in the shipping address area, only the billing address is modified.
If the same address is selected for both billing and shipping, then if I edit one, the other is changed as well but that's the expected behavior.

Hello,

This issue is affecting users that have accounts. My client and I have both experienced the issue, so it does exist. I have sent the login using your secure form for you to test with.

Hi,

The address system works the with with an account or a guest checkout.
Please explain precisely what is the problem and how to reproduce it, because as I said, the system worked fine when I tested it on your website. So I'm feeling we're talking about something else.

Hello,

I have attached two screenshots showing how it is working. You can explain if this is the default, normal behaviour. New addresses, whether they are being added to billing or shipping are being added to both, which makes the page long and somewhat confusing. Should they only be added to the billing or shipping address choice?

Hi,

Yes, that's the normal behavior. An address can be used for shipping and/or billing. So if you add a new one, you'll get it added to both the shipping and the billing address selection areas.
I agree that the way you customized the page, it makes it confusing.
But I think that with the default design of the page, it's not so confusing:
take.ms/R1qQg
It's actually quite practical that it does that when you want to buy something for someone else so that you don't have to enter the address twice, but only once and then select it in the other selection area.

BUMP

I also think it is rather confusing for the customers. It might be usable for some to keep several different addresses, but most of the customers just needs the page to be as simple as possible. I describe the same problem, with several other problems of the checkout process here www.hikashop.com/forum/checkout/884317-c...shippping-price.html I thought that there might be some template problems but I see, that it is a default design now from your link here: monosnap.com/file/SeEWGFRLlwngvqpQAVObmYqyFqYjtR#

How could we solve this problem? Its crucial for a webshop success that this process is as streamlined as possible.

But I consider it al too much confusing for normal customers. This cumbersome approach is exactly what costs the site a customer decision to buy a product. Another problem of the page design is that the right div starts just beneath the left one. That can be helped by e.g. inserting an emtpy div to the left side, but it is not looking nice.

Hi,

I've actually answered rather extensively with solutions to what you're talking about in the other thread you created about that:
