Odd labeling of 'next' buttons during Checkout

My client and I are going through a (hopeffully!) final checklist before we launch their site and they noticed something
during the checkout process that could possibly be confusing to users.

As you go through the checkout process, the text on the 'next' buttons appropriately says 'Next'. When you get to the page where you select your payment method, however, the button says 'Finish'. That wouldn't be a problem if that were, indeed, the last screen of the checkout process.

The problem is, after you select your payment method (credit card) and enter the required information and click Finish, the page refreshes, having masked all but the last 4 digits with dots. No problems there. The problem that my client has is that BOTH of those pages have buttons that say Finish.

How do I fix this?

I have attached 2 screenshots to illustrate what I am talking about. You can also submit a test order through the site if you like to try it yourself - AuthorizeNet is currently in test mode.

Many thanks!

I stepped through it just now on your site and I did see that after you click Finish the first time (step-4), it goes to "READ-ONLY" fields for the CC #, exp, etc. When I clicked Finish again (also on step-4), it processed as it should and sent me a confirmation email.

btw: Hope the CC info on the pic isn't real. I had to use that to step through it.

Can you post a picture of your checkout workflow?

LOL no, those were not real numbers. As I said, AuthNet is in test mode, so that was a test CC# for
Mastercard.

Attached is the screenshot of the Checkout flow.

Thanks for helping, btw!

Hi,

As KelsoUSMC said, the issue is with the way the checkout workflow is done.
Your payment methods selection area is on the last step of the checkout. So you get the "finish" button when it displays.
However, if you fill a credit card form for one of the payment methods in it, the system cannot finish the order as the filling of the credit card form might change something to the order and thus it displays the last step again.
To avoid a possible confusion, you should move your payment area on a step before the last step in your case.

Nicolas,

I don't process credit cards with my HS, but would Nano's process still be correct and remove the Finish button if his LAST step was "Status"?
