Company custom field not included in order emails

Hello,

I have a core custom field called "Company". It is published, not required and is visible in the front end checkout forms. When a customer adds text to the "Company" field, that text is not sent in the order notification emails. All of the other captured fields are included in the billing and shipping address areas. Why is the "Company" field not being included? Thanks.

Hi,

You need to edit the "address_template" view file for both the frontend and backend templates via the menu Display>Views and add the tag corresponding to your custom field and it will then appear on the address display.

Hello,

I added {address_company} to the address template files, but for some reason it caused none of the address information, billing or shipping to be sent in the emails. Also, none of the information is shown on the order page in the administrator panel. Any ideas?

Hi,

I don't see why it would do that.
Can you provide a screenshot of what you have in the address_template view files ?
Also, note that you can click on the bin icon of the "remove customization" column of the Display>Views menu to remove a customization. So you always have the capability to go back to what you had before if you've done something wrong.

Here are the screenshots for the front end and back end address template customizations. The templates were working before adding <span>{address_company}</span> and {address_company} to the files. No other changes were made.

I don't see why that would create a problem. It must come from something else.
Remove the address_company tag from there. Does that changes anything ?

Hello,

Removing the address_company text from the address template files fixes the issue and everything works correctly, but the client wants the company name to be included in the notification emails.

Backend access has been provided. Please note address_company has been removed from the address_template files in order for the information to be properly included in the notification emails and in the order backend.

Hi,

I've done several tests on your website and I'm not able to reproduce the problem.

The addresses are available in the order in the backend: take.ms/tIOXW
In the invoice: take.ms/cUNdM
in the email notification of the backend: take.ms/eGvHP
in the email notification when the order is created: take.ms/ChPnq

And you can see that I had the address_company tag added in all of them.
So I'm not able to reproduce what you're talking about. It just works.

Thank you for testing. I have seen that was working for you. I am assuming the edits I made could have included a mistyped character or something, thus causing the issue. I am glad that it is working now.
