Hi

Last year I built a new Joomla website for a client under the domain name of www.skiandsports.co.uk using HikaShop Business version 2.5.28 as the e-commerce component for the site and all has been working fine until recently.

When a site visitor / customer attempts to add a new product to the shopping cart the item(s) do not get added to the cart. This issue appears to have come out of nowhere as nothing has changed to make this error happen. As I say everything had been working fine.

There is no error message appearing... nothing. The only indication there is a problem is when the products will not show up in the shopping cart.

If someone could please help as the client is getting annoyed and I am not getting paid to fix this problem which isn't the client's fault but it's not mine either.

Thanks

Robert

Hi,

I've done a test but I'm able to add products to the cart:
take.ms/THBFR
What's funny is that if I refresh the page the cart is not there:
take.ms/DqdC7
but if I remove the ?popup=1 from the URL, the cart displays again:
take.ms/IjNjs
And I'm also able to go to the checkout:
take.ms/5xhQkx
But If I go back to the URL www.skiandsports.co.uk/hikashop-menu-for...de-logo-mens-t-shirt , I see againt the product with 3 in the cart.
So allthis indicates that you have a problem with something caching your pages.
And thus the cart module is also cached on the pages and that's why you think that the cart is not updated.
It actually is updated in the database, but you don't see it on the pages because they are being cached.
So this must have been the result of either something your client did, or you did, or his hosting did.

Thanks for your reply.

I have spoken to the host and all possible caching for the account has been turned off and the issue is still occurring.

Have you any further thoughts on this?

Thanks

Hi,

I've got nothing to add really. As you can see in my screenshots and tests, the issue can only come from some kind of caching.
Caching can be done in a lot of ways. For example :
- some kind of CDN on the network of the server
- a caching software on the server
- a caching extension on the website
- the caching settings of Joomla
- the caching plugin of Joomla
That's all I can think of. But there is nothing which can create that problem in HikaShop, so not much we can do to help.
If you try on another hosting or on a local web server on your computer, you should not have the problem.
