-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.2
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.36
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : FF, Chrome, Edge - all updated to most recent versions
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error message

I have an issue with emails not being sent on a website. Create order, check out, go to Authorize.net, return, and no emails. I get the authorization email from Authorize.net

The emails are in the email history. The Joomla configuration uses SMTP and it works fine as test emails are received.. Send Mail is set to 'Yes".

Any suggestions?

Hi,

If you get the emails in the email history and it works for a test email, it means that there is a problem with the email server not accepting how the Emails settings of the HikaShop configuration are configured.
It can come from many things.
It could come from the bounce address, the add name, the encoding format, the multiple part settings. So try changing these one at a time and check if it helps. You can also provide a screenshot of these settings to your hosting company support and a screenshot of an email from the history of HikaShop and they should be able to tell you why the email was discarded by their email server.

Nicholas,

After extensive testing, here was the problem. When Joomla was set for SMTP or Sendmail, the emails were not being delivered at all. When I changed to PHPMail, it worked! Not quite sure what is up with that but I can live with it even though I prefer SMTP. Do you have any clue why it won't work under SMTP or Sendmail?

Hi,

It can come from many things :)
PHPMail can actually be the same as SMTP or Sendmail, since when you use PHPMail, it just means that it will use the SMTP settings of your PHP. So the SMTP settings of your PHP and the ones in Joomla must have something different.
Again, that's something your hosting company will know a lot more about than us since they are the ones who configured your email server and the PHP settings on your server.
