Email in use on guest checkout

-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.2
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.26
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Safari 9

Hello,

A new customer on my client's website tried to checkout as a guest, but when they entered their email address and continued, the following error was displayed: Email address already used. This user does not have a Joomla account and they are a new HikaShop customer. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

Hi,

If the system says that the email address is already used, it means that there is already a Joomla user account using that email address. Did you check for any user account with their email address in the Joomla user manager ?

Then I don't see how you can have that error.
Please provide a backend access, a link to the registration form and the email address for your tests along with a link to this thread via our contact form and we'll have a look.
