Restrictions to custom fields

I've setup a text area field on the checkout process and i know the only option available is to show on all views. I was wondering if the same type of restrictions could be added in a future version like is possible with restricting certain payment methods to certain shipping methods.

Ideally i'd like to show the custom text area only when a certain shipping method is selected.

i figured it wasn't possible. Is what i would ideally see happening, something that can be achieved by a display view override (similar to a language override i guess)? If that is possible, enlighten me what i would need to do and what section of code i would have to replace by the "updated" version

I'd love to do what it sais, but i speak very little french. Enough to get by in daily life when needed but not enough to understand what that topic sais, sorry. Guess i'll have to wait, is this "request" high or low on the todo list?

hah, nightbird like me (or different timezone ). I'll wait for a stable version in this case. Now that both my site (and the one i'd need this for) are nearing completion, can't afford a setback in case something unexpected were to happen due to the beta. Usually i love beta testing, just not in this case
