Don't send confirmed email on abandoned payment

Hi,

When visitors abandon the payment process they are still getting the order confirmed email, is there a way that this is only triggered when returning to the site after payment is complete?

Hi,

That's not possible. The order status email which tells them that the order has been confirmed is only sent after the payment.
There is however another email, the order creation email, which is sent to them when the order is created and which tells them that you're waiting for their payment.
That email can be deactivated in the menu System>Emails and HikaShop won't send it anymore.
That way, you'll only get the second email, sent after the order is confirmed.

Hi and thanks Nicolas, the order created email is already disabled which is fine, however on abandoned cart (World Pay and PayPal) the confirmed email is sent to admin. It would appear the customer email isn't, unless this is going to spam.

Having thought about it we do have a cancel url setup, could that interfere?

Hi,

The "order admin notification" is sent to the admin at the creation of the order, like the "order creation notification" for the customer.

So it's normal that the admin would receive that notification even for cancelled orders.

You could deactivate it and instead enter your email address in the "bcc" field of the order status notification so that you would receive instead a copy of the email sent to the customer when the order is confirmed.
