Hello all,

Earlier this week I was pointed to a strange situation in our webshop. I'm therefore not sure when the next problem did occurred.

Normally, guest users can add multiple products in their cart from different categories.
But now the guest user, can only add one product to in his cart and once he/she wants to add the following product (even if it's in the same category) than the old product is removed.
What happens is if you have a product to your cart and you go (for example) to another category (and if you refreshed the page) then your cart is empty again.
If you have a product in your shopping cart, and you go straight to checkout then the product remains simply in your cart.

When you log in (or create an account), its working normaly and al the goods remain just stand in your cart.

I have discovered the following.
If I am logged into the backend in one tab, and in another tab (same browser), I open the website (frontend) without there to be signed in.
I can as a "guest" user simply fill my cart as it normaly should.
If I have a combination of browsers open (for example, the frontend in firefox and the backend in Chrome) then the cart is not working again.
I've now tested on three different addresses (work, friends and at home), and everywhere the same problem.

In HikaShop I have seen no specific reports in the database check. (everything OK")

I put the server / error logging in joomla on simple, but I do not get to see notifications.

Joomla 3.6.2
HikaShop Business: 2.6.4 (as last updated a few days ago)
PHP 7.0 active (and PHP 5.6 also tested with the same result)

Thanks Tap,

Thanks in advance,
Johan

Hi,

It might be that you configured your HikaShop to clear the carts too often.
Check on the settings "Cart retaining period" and "Frequency of the check for the carts" in the HikaShop configuration. The retaining period is normally 30 days and the frequency is 1 day so that every day, it removes the carts that are more than 1 month old.
If you set that to small values, it could have the effects you're describing.

Hi Nicolas,

The settings are as you have explained. But that is not the solution, unfortunately.
Could it be that it is related to the last update?
Is it possible to restore an earlier version of HikaShop, just to test whether it is resolved it?

Thanks in advance,
Johan

Hi,

I think I should go look for the problem at the hoster.
I use Varnisch drive and once I disable it then the problem is solved.
I will ask if they can solve this, and if I answer, I let it know yet here.

Thanks in advance,
Johan

Good morning,

The problem has now been resolved.
In the plugin from the "Varnisch drive" I have all the menu items from my shop again added in the "Excluded Menu Items"
Why this suddenly no longer worked the hoster could not give a answer to most likely it has to do with had an update, but 100% sure they could not say.

Thank you for the assistance! Through this forum, I have been able to resolve many questions during the building of my shop.

Keep up with this way of working!

Thanks in advance,
Johan
