How to cancel mail about change status

After checkout the customer receives two emails, a confirmation (order_creation_notification) and a notification about status change (order_status_notification).
I want to cancel the last one, but how?

You would have to edit the hikashop_config table via phpmyadmin and change the entry order_creation_notification.published entry to 0.

I couldn't find the hikashop_config table, but tried the other option from the thread to edit the order.php file.
It seemed to work, but suddenly I got a white screen after checkout.
In the address bar: sizaspeelotheek.nl/index.php/bestellen/c...out/task-step/step-1
After undoing the changes the white screen continues.
What can I do?

I made it.
I restored a backup to get the white screen disappear and found the hikashop_config table.
That was the solution.
