Can't add product to cart

Hi,

We have a problem where we can't add any products to the shopping cart. We've tried:

  • With SEF urls turned on and off
  • Setting add to cart buttons to use ajax when possible and not
  • We were using SJ mini cart- we disabled this and tried with the standard Hikashop cart
  • Changing the site template to Protostar and other templates that we know Hikashop works with
  • I tried updating to the lasted version of Hikashop, this wiped out our shop settings but the add to cart still didn't work - (have rolled it back to 2.6.3 since)

Any ideas/help would be much appreciated as we're ready to launch the site other than for the add to cart function!

Hi,

Does it work if you're logged in ?
It could be a user session issue on your web server resulting in the session changing on each page.
What if you change the "session handler" setting of the Joomla configuration ? Does it work better ?
Also, you can try clicking on the "check database" button of the HikaShop configuration. Maybe there is a problem with the database preventing the add to cart system to work properly ?

Thanks for your reply.

Changing the session handler makes no difference.
Checked the database and all reporting as OK
Shouldn't be a server issue, have 2 other Hikashops running on the same server.
Logging in does allow products to be added to the cart - have checked the config against the 2 working shops we host and all looks to be the same?

Any further thoughts would be appreciated as we seem to be stuck at the moment.

Then I don't see why it would do that.
If you backup the website and restore it on a local wamp/xamp/mamp/lamp server, do you still have the issue ?
The add to cart process itself seems to work since HikaShop then redirects you successfully after the add to cart and if it were failing, it would normally display an error message that you would be able to see with the protostar template.
But you can still check that you don't have any limits in the menu Products>Limits which might restrict what can be added to the cart;
