Finish Button not working

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with the checkout on Hikashop where after you click the finish button the checkout page is just displayed again and not redirected to PayPal.
I have found the same topic on here from about 5 months ago but I cant get past the problem as suggested from the following article

It says to add <jdoc:include type="message" /> before this <jdoc:include type="component" />
I am using the default joomla template beez3 and I cant find <jdoc:include type="message" /> in the index.php file.
I cant see any errors on the screen even turning the debug system on and error reporting to max.

Is there anything else I can do to show the error.

Hi,

If you have the default template of Joomla, it will display the messages. So in your case, it would mean that there is no error message.

From what I can see on your checkout page ( take.ms/jLVxL2 ), it seems like all yours resources (CSS, images, JS) are loaded in HTTP instead of HTTPS ( take.ms/XILN6t ) while your checkout is in HTTPS.
This can't be good. It seems to come from the base tag on the page headers which isn't good: take.ms/igB1c
And that is added by your template, and I can see that your template is not beez3 but something called stc_2

So I'm not able to go further than than on your checkout and thus couldn't reproduce your issue with the checkout not finishing as the checkout is not even displaying properly.

Hi Nicolas,
I have now changed the template back to beez3.
Could it be a problem with the ssl certificate.
I have changed the hikashop config checkout to use ssl to yes but it hasn't changed anything. I do believe we are on a shared host so when I click this it opens a box. Am I supposed to enter something in there.

Hi,

I've just checked your website and I still see the exact same problem.
So:
- check that the "live_site setting of your website uses the HTTPS URL of your website.
- turn off the "use SSL on checkout" setting of the HikaShop configuration, so that your website doesn't try to use HTTPS on your checkout so that it avoids the problem with the base tag being different than the URL of the page.

I have attached 2 screen shots, 1 of the checkout and 1 of the site config.
I have turned off ssl for the checkout and added https in the live site address in the Global Config page.
I have also checked that the ssl certificate itself is ok and that's fine.

After doing all the above I still have problems.

You say that you still have problems, but that definitely fixed the problem I was talking about since I can now see the checkout page properly:

What other problems do you have ?
I tried to test your checkout, but after I registered, I never received the activation email in order to activate my test account and thus I couldn't check what other problems you could have.
Could you activate the account ?
Also, regarding the emails not arriving, it's probably an issue with how you configured the email settings of the Joomla configuration, so please check on that.

Hi nicolas,

I have sorted out the email problem now for registration. dont know what caused it but I just changed to smtp then back to php mail and its working again.
Unfortunatly you will have to recreate your account as I deleted you by accident when clearing spam users.

Hi,

Thank you, I was able to access your backend.
As far as I can see the problem is related to the Brainforge shipping plugin you're using.
I've created a manual shipping method using the plugin by default in HikaShop and when I select it, I can finish the order properly. So there must be some problem with how the Brainforge shipping plugin is configured, or maybe a bug in it.
But HikaShop is working fine on your website as far as I can see.

Hi Nicolas,

I have been in contact with Jonathan who wrote the Brainforge plugin and he has re-written the plugin and also improved it to include the Royal Mail
delivery system. I dont know if he has updated it on your website yet.

So far it seems to be working but I will be trying it later.
