Customer see no change when shipping/payment selections are made

I just installed a new template that is supposed to be hikashop friendly (artis from FavThemes) and I thought everything was fine since test orders I made came through ok. Now I just noticed that when a customer selects a shipping/payment selection - nothing changes on the page to let the customer know they have selected something. However if you go to the next page - it shows what is selected and the order will go through.

More info: I have this site in a test folder before I upgraded the live site. I checked the program on test site and there was also no change when making a selection - but if I put the old template back temporarily and made a selection the color changed to show that a selection was made.

What do I do to fix this?

I changed the setup to "Using Bootstrap design" to no and now I have buttons and it works. The bootstrap design was nicer looking but the plane buttons is ok also. Does this just mean that bootstrap design is not compatible with my new template.

I just contacted the FavTheme people and they were totally unhelpful. It is a nice template and it is listed on your site as being hikashop friendly but they have absolutly no support - relying developers to make changes. I am not a developer. Could you maybe point me to where the css is that controls the display of the checkout when using bootstrap. Don't I need bootrap for all phones & tablets?
