Display only one option

HI Nicolas,

I have my products set up with 4 options as drop downs, and each drop down has about 9 items in it.
Is there a way to force people to select only one of them and have only the selected item to appear in the checkout?
At the moment when people select only one, they have all 3 options displayed in checkout, which i think will cause some confusion. Any suggestions?

(We cannot really use characteristics easily, as then we would have well over 60 characteristics for each product and over 100 products all up, so not a practical solution there)

You have mentioned that we can use characteristics and options combined.

I have set it up the way i thought it could work, but i cannot find how to add options for each characteristic, if that is possible at all

Ideally I would like to have only one drop down in Medium as it is now, and then only one of the options appear based on what medium you have selected. The reason to do this, is that we can have all the printing prices as 3 separate products with all their variants, and if anything changes we would have to adjust only those 3 products, and not every single print.

The solution will be to directly set the "Group options with product" option to via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Main"
