-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.idesignorkney.co.uk/webdev/
-- HikaShop version -- : 1.5.6
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.8
-- PHP version -- : 5.6
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error message to display. The error must be something with the script.

Hello,

Good day!

I tried to read many forum articles here about the Checkout Paypal not redirecting but still no luck and tried my best and still nothing happened.
Hopefully you can help me with this issue. .

When you add items to the cart: www.idesignorkney.co.uk/webdev/index.php...rsonalised-calendars and proceed to checkout and click "Next", the paypal loading option still displaying, but after that, the cart became empty and I receive order notification but the page does not redirected to paypal, so the customer can't pay the said cart. . :( :(

I tried updating the hikashop version but the layout messes so stick with the current version. It works before and wondered why it does not work anymore :(

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Hi,

I wanted to look at your checkout issue, but after registering I never got the user activation email so I couldn't finish the checkout.
I would recommend to deactivate the user activation in your Joomla user manager and check why the emails are not being sent.

Could you also provide a test user account so that we could look at the problem in order to see what's going on ?

Hi,

As far as I can see, the problem is that you changed the "URL" setting of your PayPal payment method from the recommended www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr to the empty cart URL of your website via the menu System>Payment methods.
Or that you've customized the file plugins/hikashoppayment/paypal/paypal._end.php to use that empty cart URL instead of the URL from the settings of the payment method.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply and help. No files are edited. I also viewed the paypal._end.php and the codes are still the same. I also tried to disable the script to not submit the paypal automatically and just click the "pay now" button, but instead, the cart becomes empty and I am redirected to empty cart page and need to add products again. Is there a possibility to not empty the cart? I can't find the exact code and I want to disable it. .

Thank you.

Hello,

Can you check as Nicolas told you your payment plugin configuration and more especially this point :

- Go in Components => HikaShop => Configuration
- in System dropdown select Payment Methods
- Click on your payment method, and have a look on your url setting :

Awaiting news from you

Hello,

Thank you very much for your reply. . I now followed the steps (please see attached)

but still the issue is still there.. For some reason, the cart becomes empty before it will be submitted to the paypal. So I would like to disable emptying the cart and try if it will work but don't know where to look :(

Thanks.. :)

Hi,

To disable the emptying of the cart, go in the HikaShop configuration and change the "Clean cart when order is" setting to set it to "confirmed".

Hello,

Thank you very much. Unfortunately, when I changed the status, I only got a "Thank you for your purchase" message and not redirected to paypal. I've been trying to solve the issue but I still can't fix it :( . . I tried uploading a new paypal plugin but it's not working right as the hikashop version is a bit old.

I now updated the hikashop to the current version, but the custom fields are not showing: www.idesignorkney.co.uk/webdev/index.php...rsonalised-calendars , do I need to purchase a business pro as what stated in the attached screenshot?

Hello,

Yes, the custom fields is only available with Business version.

For your Paypal issue I see only one way to understand now the root issue :
- We need some user backend/frontend access in order to be able to make some tests, and for this use our Contact us form in order to provide this.

Note : Use this topic title to fill your message Subject in order to keep the link with this topic.

Hello,

Thank you very much. . I now sent an email. . I also re-installed the webdev site to use the old version of hikashop, since the custom fields option is only available in business pro.

Looking forward to your reply regarding my email and issue and hoping the paypal issue will be fixed.

Thank you very very much. . .

Hello,

Several points :
1°) First, for a reason or another the frontend access you provide don't work.
2°) I think I get why paypal don't work, see by yourself in your payment method configuration screen :

You must complete this :

And last point, you have to know that your HikaShop version is very old (release in 2012) and so, as the log file can show you, since there is lots of issue that have been solved...and even some risk of security breach.
The HikaShop team can't spend time to solve old issues, here that's not the case we are ok.

But you have to don't forget that you can find some information about how to configure HikaShop Payment method, here

Hope this will help you to solve your paypal issue.

Regards

Hello,

Good day!! First of all, thank you very much for looking at the website. . Very much appreciated. I indeed followed the steps before, like adding the paypal url and email but it does not work well, so I updated the hikashop and the paypal payment worked fine. But the newest hikashop version does not allow custom fields to be displayed on free version, so I reinstalled the site again and did not enter any info in the paypal configuration anymore.

Now, I tried putting info again in the paypal configuration field using different email address and it's just weird that it worked now. Before, it worked well without any info in the configuration. Not sure if it has something to do with the email address that I input since there's no note or error that the email is wrong, as it does not redirect to paypal.

In any case, I hope this will work from now on.

Thank you very much for your help!!!!!!!
