No pay/next/finish button

-- url of the page with the problem -- : amarillosnuff.com/index.php/products/checkout/task-step/step-1
-- HikaShop version -- : 3.0.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3

I can't find anything that explains how to get to the next step here - the customer puts something in the cart, goes to checkout, sees that Paypal and Shipping are chosen for them, see the price which is correct, and...then...what? There is no next button, no pay button. What am I missing? I've tried to work through the tutorials, but since they aren't in any order, it's been a little confusing. Help!

Hi,

I'd be happy to help but the link you provided doesn't work:
monosnap.com/file/baGpKaNxxG0ZJvXKAunbeBpkGXDIOi
So I can't look at what you have on your checkout.
Normally, there should be a next or a finish button at the bottom of the checkout.
I don't see a reason why you wouldn't have it.
Try with the default template of Joomla... maybe it's linked to your template in some way.
If you could provide instructions to be able to look at the problem on your website that would be great.

Yes, I'm sorry, I had to take the non-working shop down so the checkout can't be reached. I don't know how to get help for this when the client won't let me leave the shop up since it's totally screwed up, but I need help from HikaShop. Any way to get real time support?

EDIT: I'm asking because this isn't my only problem!

It's up while I'm working on it, but I have no idea how to make any of this work. It keeps changing even when I'm not doing anything!
amarillosnuff.com/index.php/hikashop-men...cts-listing/checkout

Still no "Next" or "Finish" button, although it was there temporarily. No idea why it showed up, no idea why it disappeared again. Now the delete icon is gone, registration/login isn't working AT ALL, and I don't know what to do!! I really need help with this!

I am also curious if the support staff actually gets emails sent through the contact form here. I have sent several with no response.

Alright, I have to take the store down again. I really need someone to help me in real time, if that's at all possible.

Hi,

Please understand that we reply as fast as we can. Spamming our support won't make us answer faster.

From what I could see on your checkout there are several problems:
- Your Joomla template is not displaying messages:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/6...tibility-issues.html
So when you register, you don't see the message telling you that you need to click on the activation link in the email sent to you, you only see a blank page.
- For some reason the activation link doesn't work properly. I'd recommend turning off the user account activation in the Joomla user manager settings. That will simply the checkout experience of your customers and will circumvent that problem.
- You don't see the "next/finish" button when you arrive on the checkout and that's because of 2 reasons:
1. You're not logged in yet so you need to either login or register and then you'll get the button.
2. You're using the old checkout of HikaShop. If you turn off the "checkout legacy" setting of the HikaShop configuration, you'll use the new checkout which does display a "next/finish" button even when you're not logged in yet.

I'm sorry, I wasn't "spamming" support, but asking questions as they arose. Since I could see support people were responding to me here but not to my emails, I started to worry that the emails weren't getting delivered.

I will try these suggestions and see what happens. If I turn off registration in Joomla, then we can no longer register customers? We have all of our old customers' accounts from the e-commerce solution that stopped working, and the advantage is being able to purchase without re-entering the same information over and over. I had also hoped to make use of the re-order function in HikaShop that I had read about, but I'm not sure how that will work without the ability to register. It seems that the ordering system of the old software itself did the registration, not the site. I'm a little confused about the difference.

1. Display message:
I followed the link and looked up display message for Gantry. There is a Display Component which can be enabled or disabled. I turned it off and back on, saving both times, as that sometimes has an effect. Neither the line of code I was told needed to be in index.php NOR the line of code that is supposed to accompany it were in the file (as per the link you posted here). I'm always hesitant to change Gantry's php, and am not sure where to put both lines.

2. Disable accounts
What's strange is that my account that I tried to set up last night registered, and the one for HikaShop, show up as registered. They are now in the backend! But when I try to log in, I'm getting the error "Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet." which I'm assuming is because there was no message sent to activate the account. Old accounts created by the old shop software can still login, but it looks like we can't create new accounts.

3. Delete icons
The finish button is back, but the delete icons are still gone. Any idea where they disappeared to?

I'm going to leave the store active, even though it's not currently working properly, and hope that if we get orders, they don't need to delete anything and can manage as guests for the time being.

Hi,

0. I would also recommend to leave the Joomla user account registration activated so that your previous customers can purchase with their account and new customers can create new accounts.
What I was talking about is to turn off the user account validation so that customers who create a new account won't have to go in the email client to click on the activation link.

1. You should not change Gantry's code. The best is to contact your template provider, tell them that you don't see messages on your frontend when the template is used and ask them what should be done.

2. That's because the accounts were not activated. I did receive the activation link in an email but upon clicking on it, it didn't work properly. Which is why I recommended turning off the user account validation.

3. This has been answered here:
