I have an ebook on my site and when I go through the checkout process the system is asking for an address, city, state, etc. How do I disable the address.

Hi,

If you don't want to ask the address of the customers, you can remove the "address" view from the "checkout workflow" setting of the HikaShop configuration.

If I remove the address won't that affect the products I have that require shipping? I need a address for them.

Yes, it will created bad side effects like disabling the shipping.

I have both electronic products and physical products on my website. When I tested the checkout process for the electronic product I was asked to put in a billing address, but the shopper will not be billed because the product is FREE. How do I fix it so that they are not asked for a billing address. Also people who order physical products need to be able to put in a billing address. If I remove the address from the checkout workflow then people who order the physical products will not be able to put in a billing address.

Hello,

Products with a weight are product with shipping required.
When the shipping is required, the shipping address is asked.
And legally in most countries, you must have a billing address for every order.

Afterwards, it is possible in HikaShop 3 to dynamically change the checkout workflow via a plugin.
So with some development, you could remove the "address" block from the workflow when the order total is free.

I have no shipping weight for the free product. Is there any documentation that I can look at to remove the address block.

Hi,

As Jerome said, there is no option to remove the address block when the product is free or has a shipping weight of 0.
There is only an option to remove completely the address block all the time.
And if you leave it, then the most you can do is to remove the shipping address area of the block when the weight of the product is zero.
If you want to skip the address block when the weight of the product is 0, then it would require some development.
