Price doesn't show properly on checkout

The price remains at $0 on the checkout page, even if the quantity is more than one.
The delete button doesn't do anything.
There is not refresh button.
Of course the total doesn't change since the price is $0.
I set a price on the product's main interface for the default variant's price, and have 3 variants with a price set for each.
On the Detail page, the price does change to show the different price for a variant. but doesn't change when you change the quantity.
What am I doing wrong?

I just figured out that I needed to add the Price/Restrictions in addition to the Retail Price. Now it works.
(I have to admit, I don't understand all the different times I have to add the price and when they are used. Would love clarification on that.)
But if I change the quantity on the checkout page, it doesn't recalculate and there is no refresh button. And the delete still doesn't work.
If I haven't filled in the login or registration info and click Finish, or if I changed the quantity to 0 and then I click Finish it gets deleted. So it refreshed it and asked me to fill out the info, but I don't think that is good user experience-don't know what happens if I had been logged in..
I am using a Yootheme template if that makes a difference.
