Hi, I discovered a couple of bugs in the version 3.2.0 of the cart. I have a product " 50 Exterior Wash Tickets" which I sent you a link to that I set a limit of 2 items that can be purchased inside each cart session. However, if you try to place more than 2 items to the cart a message pops up saying limit reached quantity reduced for product. However, instead of just reducing the quantity to 2 if you are over the maximum quantity of 2 it displays that message but adds nothing to the cart at all. There is some sort of bug in the ajax or something not communicating back to update the quantity and update the cart.

The 2nd issue is when you actually get to the checkout process. If you have the quantity set to a limit of 2 products if you try to reduce the quantity to 1 product it fails and you cannot reduce the quantity. It instead says "Limit reached. You can't add the product: 50 Exterior Wash Tickets". This is a bug because you are reducing the quantity not adding to the quantity.

These are both really large issues because it makes limiting the quantity or total cart value impossible currently. I attached screenshots of all my settings and the errors. Please let me know what the fix is for this.

Hello,

Thanks for your return ! The bug for reduce the quantity is very interesting !
We were able to reproduce it, and so we will investigate about this, and provide as quick as possible a solution !

For your first part of your message, some information, it's not a bug, it's a change of behavior chosen and wanted.
Let's explain why, before as you said when a customer try to add 10 product, when there is a limit quantity of 2, only 2 products where added to cart, but if the shop don't display product quantity in cart, that wasn't really understandable for customer, especially if after added customer continue his shopping and discover at the end the results...

Regards

Philip thank you for the response back. In your first response back I don't think it makes very much sense to have it behave in that manner. The message is saying that the product was reduced which means to the customer it was still added to the cart. This is confusing to the customer and is a ui/ux issue. The better thing to do is have the popup language file message say the maximum allowed purchase quantity of this item is "2" and your quantity in the cart was reduced to reflect this. The problem is the default message is saying it is being reducing but in fact this is not actually happening nothing is added at all.

The 2nd issue and not being able to reduce the quantity is a bigger issue though.

Hi,

We were able to reproduce the issue with the limit not being enforced properly upon update of the quantity when the quantity is already reached.

Based on your feedback, we also corrected the error message so that it properly says that the product couldn't be added to the cart and give the maximum amount possible to the customer.

Please download the install package on our website and install it on yours and that will add the different patches for all of that.
