How can I add a custom message customers can send with the final order

Is there a way lets say someone adds things to the cart and they go to checkout but if they have something to add like an comment that will come with the final order as an email to me like any preferences about it or something additinal they want to say about/with the order how can I add such a option so they can add a text with the final order
