Hi

the new checkout flow looks really great and is a big improvement compared to the old version.

But I can't figure it out in regard to addresses.

I have a shop where no registration is wanted, so I have removed that option in Joomla.
But I still need to have a login View in the checkout process. That doesn't make sense?
And the Address View that i have on my cart doesn't get shown? This is not very logical.

Here is the actual problem:
When the user gets to the cart there is one set of address fields. And the checkbox withe the "same address for shipping" which is not checked.
Now I would expect that if the checkbox is NOT set, then a second set of address fields is visible to type in the shipping address. But only one set is visible.
Continuing with the checkbox unchecked results in an error and then the extra address fields are shown. This does not look like the correct way to handle it.

Am I missing something here?

Hi,

The login view can display three things:
- a login form (so that customers can login
- a registration form (so that customers can register)
- a guest form (so that customers can do the checkout with just their email address)
Also, addresses have to be linked to user entries (whether it's a Joomla user account, or a guest checkout entry)
So the address view will display only after you're logged in, or after you have filled the guest checkout form, which can both be done with the login view.
And it is possible to configure your website to use some other login module to request customers to login so in that case, it makes sense to still not display the address form but display it after the customer is logged in through that third party login module, and so you don't need to login view in such case.

If, when you register/guest checkout, you uncheck the "same address" checkbox, then the address entered on the registration/guest checkout form will be taken as billing address and when the address view displays, it will display the shipping address form so that you can enter the shipping address.
I don't know what error you're talking about so what you're describing indeed look strange. But we would need more precise information (screenshot of the settings under the checkout tab of the HikaShop configuration, precise instructions to reproduce the problem on the website) to be able to provide a more precise answer.

Hi

Here are some screenshots and more detailed explanation
I have a one page checkout.
When entering the cart I see this:

If the user wants a separate shipping address, then there are no fields to use for filling this information. The checkbox is not checked, so it should be possible to fill in this extra information.
Only possibility for the user is to continue and press the finish button.
Then this error is shown:

And further down this shows:

Now the box is checked and this creates now 2 billing and 1 shipping address.

This flow is not very user friendly as it is now.

I see some options:
1. The checkbox (Same address for shipping) should be checked by default on the first screen. If a user unchecks it a second addressfield appears to fill in the shipping address.
2. There are 2 address fields from the beginning and if a user checks the field (same address for shipping) then one address field should dissapear.

I like the idea that you can register on the website, but if you don't need that, then the whole guest-thing is really confusing

Here are some screenshots of the settings:

Hi,

1. Removing the main title when the login form is not activated is a good point. I've added a change on our end for that.
If you download again the install package on our website and install it on yours, you'll get the patch for that.

2. There is for now no mechanism to display the shipping fields directly on the registration/guest form for now. That's something we want to add in the near future.

Hi

Thanbks.
I have downloaded and installed, but no change.
Tried another browser and private browsing, same effect. No caching enabled.

I will have to disable the extra address until further as it is to confusing for the customers.

Hi,

I don't see the "login or continue as guest" wrong title anymore on your checkout. So you did get the patch for that.

Hi

I downloaded and installed it, but the text was still there. So I have made a language override to remove it.
Also the word Guest (that has absolutely no meaning to customers is changed to e-mail via language override.

Looking forward to better functionality on this part of Hika.

But the new version looks great!! Good work!
