Hi,

Currently I am trying some stuff with discounts and coupons. Works fine, but I miss one feature.

When selecting multiple products of the same category I cannot set a forced price. It would be so nice if you could choose between an amount of money which is the forced price and an amount of money which will be used as a discount on the product...

Example:
Buy 3 different kinds of coffee of same weight but with different prices (lets say one 6.20, other 6.50, another 7.00 or whatever).
Total price = 17.50

I can set a discount when buying 3 in a discount coupon (but this amount of money I put in will be lowered on the total price). I can state in the product that the price per product changes when I buy 3 of the same, but I cannot set this for category.

Any ideas?

Hi,

It would be possible with the development of a custom plugin which would change the price of the products during the loading of the cart, or calculate the value of the coupon based on what's in the cart.
Without development I don't see a solution.

What you could do is create another "pack" product, which would cost the amount of the 3 together with custom item fields to select the flavor for each item of the pack. But that has some limitations:
- it won't take into account the stock of each product and the stock of each product won't be updated
- if you have many flavors that can be in the same pack, or if you change / add flavors regularly, it's a pain to manage.

Any idea what it would cost to have this developed?

Hi,

We could this. The exact price would depend on what you want exactly.
For example, what should happen if you have 4 products of that category in the cart ?
Is it only for one category, or you'll want a similar mechanism for different categories ?
And do you want the discount to appear as a coupon (meaning you customers won't be able to add another coupon), or you would prefer the price of the each product to appear reduced in the cart ?
Based on your need, it could be anywhere between 150€ and 500€.
If you're interested in having us work on that, you can use our contact form so that we can discuss the details and give you a proper invoice :

For now I will keep this in mind. I might contact you.
Final question so this also becomes public readable. If I would have this developed, will it be shared with the community here and added to Hikashop by default?

Hi,

It depends on what you need precisely (as it might not be of much use to others) and what you want to do.
There are pros and cons for you. If it's shared, then we normally maintain it so you get it updated for free in the future.
Supposing that it would be a generic plugin which would set the price of the cheapest product for all the products of a similar category in the cart (so a setting to define the category and a setting to define the minimum amount of products above which this is triggered), that could even be made as a plugin we could sell on the marketplace. But then, it also means a lot more work to manage the options in the plugin compared to something really custom where there are no options.
In any case, I don't see what you want as something which could be in HikaShop by default as I think it's too specific and don't go well with the settings already in there. But maybe. It depends on the details.
