Yes, it's possible. You have the "HikaShop cart module" you can use for that.
You can configure it via the Joomla modules manager.
There, you want to activate the "mini cart" mode.
You'll see it will just display a sentence like: X items for Y.
Then, you can use a translation override to change that text in order to add an img tag for the cart icon and you can add some CSS on top of it:
