-- HikaShop version -- : 4.2.3 -Essential
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.16
-- PHP version -- : 7.3.16
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 75.0

For some reason I don't receive any HikaShop emails regarding the creation and processing of orders.
After order creation, nothing received, but it is recorded in the system (and the email history suggests it has been sent)
If I then go into the Order and change the Status to say Created or Confirmed manually and scroll down and send an email (addresses look ok and are valid addresses) and click OK - no emails ever arrive.
If I then look in the Customer Emails History - I can see all the emails that it should have sent, admin, status, creation.

Question is why? Have I missed something somewhere? I'm assuming it's me and not HikaShop?
I've spent a lot of time looking at this and finally decided to ask to help. Attached a pic of the order history email screen, if it helps.
Suggestions very welcome!

Regards

Hi,

If you see the emails in the email history of HikaShop, it means that HikaShop sends the emails to your server / hosting 's email server which then cannot send the email or it can but the receiver email server refuses it. So not much you can do in HikaShop itself (and it's not a bug of HikaShop either).
So there are two possibilities:
- You have a problem with the settings in Email section of the Joomla configuration or you have a problem with the Email section of the HikaShop configuration. So what you can do is contact the support of your hosting with a screenshot of the details of an email from the email history and a screenshot of each email configuration sections and ask them why the email was not delivered. They should be able to tell you what happened to the email looking at the logs of the email server on their end.
- You server is flagged as spam or your emails for one reason or another. you can use the website www.mail-tester.com/ to test your emails with it to see if you have spam problems. Again based on what it tells you, you might need to seek advice with your hosting support.

Thanks. I think I was heading down that line as well, but thanks for confirming it.

I checked my Joomla mail config and it's set to "PHP Mailer" - I click Send Test ... and guess what - no email ever arrives.
Send Mail & SMTP both fail give errors - SMTP probably as I need to set the values correctly - host question?

I have a feeling I had emailing issues when I started using AcyMailing - but that works fine. Will I break that if I change the Joomla mailing options? They are supposed to be compatible it seems.

In the meantime I will try and get my host to have a look at logs.

Hi,

If even the test email from the Joomla configuration doesn't arrive, then yes, it's an issue with the email settings of the Joomla configuration and you need to check with your hosting support how these settings should be configured.
AcyMailing has it's own email sending settings in its settings. So changing email settings in Joomla shouldn't change anything in AcyMailing. However, if it works with AcyMailing emails, I would recommend that you take AcyMailing settings as examples for your Joomla email settings.

OK, I've finally got it sorted thanks. I took the AcyMailing SMTP settings and applied them to the Joomla SMTP selection in the Global Config using STARTTLS.
