I've installed the Brave browser just to test this, so I have the latest version, same as you.
I completed these exact steps
Go
candlesalight.shop/our-products/product/.../category_pathway-19
Add to Cart
Go to Cart
Delete the one item
Returns to cart screen with no items
Go to checkout
And I properly get redirected to
candlesalight.shop/our-products
with the "The cart is empty" message :

So that's strange as I'm not able to reproduce the issue. Are you still able to reproduce the issue ? Did you change anything ? Are you logged in when you reproduce this ? Do you have any extensions oinstalled n your Brave browser ?
Regarding your last point
This product has characteristics and options, you will see when you edit in the cart the lost options
however, that's something we've fixed a few days ago. Download again the install package of the 4.4.2 and install it on your website and you'll get the patch for it.
